Hey guys! Just letting you know that CWC is invited out to another Rock Springs, WI private mil-sim event. I gave Scott the lowdown on this via phone, but the gist is that it is a 2 and a half day long strict mil-sim game. I am extending invites to players and teams that A) I feel would enjoy this kind of game and B) are on my good side. :) The entire weekend of Friday, June 20th to Sunday, June 22nd will be dedicated to this camping event weekend, and you are encouraged to come out at any time. The game will run constant, from Friday night until Sunday afternoon. Teams are allowed to drop in and drop out as they see fit, but the objectives will be tailored to run continuously. The safe-zone (at the top of the property by the entrance) will be the only goggles-off safe zone on the entire field and will be reserved for parking, resting, and camping. Just cause I know the question will come up... the safe zone and camping area will be designated as a "no disturbance" area so people can sleep without interruption if they choose... but the objectives will continue to run throughout the entire weekend. I don't have the entire rule set, objectives, or info up and running yet but that will follow this message in a couple weeks. I just wanted to get the word out so you can plan for it (if you intend on coming).

Ryan any chance a few CWC members could fill a special role and insert into this game at a predetermined time, In an OP4 role? A few members of the team have expressed interest in this. ----------

UPDATE (6/11/08) The game for Rock Springs is STILL ON for the weekend of June 20th, 21st, and 22nd. The field is wet and sloppy in some areas, but still very playable. The field didn't get nearly as much rain as other areas, so it isn't as bad as I had feared. But, we still have some obstacles that we have to worry about for that weekend. 1) The closest place to get gas, food, and use a bathroom is the Cenex gas station in Rock Springs. Downtown Rock Springs is currently under about 5 feet of water, so I would not plan on being able to use that at all. Be prepared to use car chargers and a crappy toilet chair thing I'll drag out to the field unless you want to run back to Baraboo. 2) Because of all the flooding, the direct routes into the field are blocked (the bridges are flooded). This means that all participants MUST get a very specific set of driving instructions from me or else there is absolutely no chance to get to the field. 3) Because the field is still soaked, bring extra socks or boots (or waterproof versions of both) because you can plan on playing in muddy and wet conditions, but it will still be manageable. Plan as if you're about to play in a very muddy and wet place. 4) The Baraboo/Rock Springs area is due to get some more rain in the next couple days. This may be just enough to push the "acceptable" playing conditions of the field up to downright nasty and unplayable conditions. Although the game is on right now, I'll be making the final call in the middle of next week (most likely June 18th) if we are going to Rock Springs or not. If we aren't, I'll be holding the camp-out and mil-sim game out to the Merrimac field as a backup plan on the same dates (the 20th, 21st, and 22nd).
