Airsoft Safety Rules
Searching for airsoft safety information

Airsoft Safety Basic Rules:

I have over the years, discussed this topic with many law enforcement officers. Basically the consensus is always the same:

1) Know and Abide by any laws that may apply to your location.
The fastest way to get this information is to call your local Sheriff department's non emergency number and ask them.

2) Treat your airsoft guns as if they were real guns.
When transporting your airsoft guns to and from games they should always be in a gun case. Avoid displaying your airsoft gun in areas where the general public can see.

3) Notify anyone who may be in visual range of your airsoft game.
If you will be playing near a road or where someone from the public might see a airsoft gun battle taking place, post signs at these locations. Notify neighbors before games.

Airsoft Game Safety Basic Rules:

Most public airsoft and paintball fields have adopted safety rules and standards established by insurance companies and airsoft players association's across the USA. These airsoft standards have evolved over time from common sense player input and trial and error in field trials and tests. These standards can most often be found online by visiting your States Official Airsoft Gun Association Website. We have provided some great airsoft resources below.

Some basic guidelines for parents, hosting airsoft games on private property:

So your son or daughter wants to host a small airsoft game at your house, What basic safety information do you, as a parent need to know. First be sure and notify all attendees they must follow rules above.

1) Make sure all players are equipped with ANSI Z87.1 rated safety goggles at a minimum.  Most standards state, anyone under 18 must wear full face mask. Close shots from airsoft guns will knock out teeth!

2) Check the velocity of all players guns to avoid accidents. Establish a "10 foot bang rule", no one may shoot any player closer than 10 feet. Low cost chronographs are available to measure the velocity of airsoft guns. You may also use a aluminum can to test basic velocities of players guns. Just "google" poor mans chronograph for instructions.

3) Make sure an adult Supervises all games.
